Carla Grima’s Atelier: Abloom

Let there be colour!

On Wednesday, Carla Grima brought us the best bits of summer with her Abloom collection. Basically, it’s everything you wish you had in your closet for a balmy summer evening. As ever, Carla Grima’s Atelier placed an equal importance on comfort and design.

Carla Grima introduced us a variety of distinctive beauties. The models looked natural and relaxed, whether they were lying glamorously on the sun loungers, having a glass of rosé, or positioned in front of the camera.

From rich blue to vibrant orange, Carla Grima went for a colourful palette, giving the pieces a distinctive aquarelle-esque effect. The signature pattern showed up on flowing silk full length dresses, lightweight two-pieces and kaftans. The fit was often loose and comfortable without loosing the silhouette. How? I don’t know how she does that.

I am feeling mighty excited about the jumpsuit with a deep V-neck in slightly faded shades of blue with pops of orange, red and mazarine blue. A relaxed fit added to the luxe feeling, it’s such a stunner!

Swimwear pieces were simply to-die-for. There it was, an off-the-shoulder orange one-piece, calling me with its siren song. ‘Wear me’ it said and suddenly, all I wanted was to lounge by the pool with a tall cold drink, wearing this beauty — more please, Carla!
